Nicholas Cheffings

Nicholas is a Special Advisor to The Crown Estate, supporting the Chief Executive and his leadership team. He previously served as the Interim Head of Legal and Company Secretary. He is a lawyer and was a partner of the international law firm Hogan Lovells and its global Chair from 2012 to 2018.

Nicholas has been an Independent Member of the governing Council of the University of Exeter since 2018. Amongst his other recent roles are that of Executive Chair of PRIME, a UK charity with over 60 law firm members committed to promoting wider access for school-age students from socio-economically less advantaged backgrounds;  Chair of the British Paralympic Association’s Parallel Club; and trustee of The CareTech Charitable Foundation and of the International Senior Lawyers’ Project.

He is a Patron of NRG Lawyers, a charity supporting students from non-Russell Group universities wishing to access the legal profession.
