New York-based STRIVE International publishes their 2015 Annual Report

We were pleased to read the recently published Annual Report from our partner organisation STRIVE, who reported a year of ‘exceptional innovation, impact and growth.’ STRIVE, which is thriving in 20 American cities, is leading in its approach to tackling poverty through helping people into employment, by helping to develop the skills and attitudes they need to overcome their circumstances.

They report having supported 1,436 people from disadvantaged communities into jobs last year. In 2015 they also introduced their Future Leaders Programme, which aims to support young adults by helping them to overcome barriers such as past arrests, and helped 550 young people since its inception.

Making The Leap launched an adapted model of the STRIVE programme back in 1999. At the time, we were one of the first organisations in the UK to support unemployed people by focusing on their attitude and behaviour. To this day, we continue to have a strong relationship with STRIVE. We are very proud of STRIVE’s achievements and their growth Stateside, and look forward to celebrating their future successes.
