Volunteer

Making The Leap has a number of volunteering opportunities, enabling you to foster professional growth in our young people, while also enriching your own personal development.

In 2022/23…

volunteers supported 2,049 hours of delivery activities

Become a mentor

Provide 1-1 support for young adults aged 18-25 who have completed our three-week ACE Programme, helping build the skills and confidence needed to excel in their chosen career paths.

Key responsibilities include establishing relationship and rapport, career exploration, goal setting, job application advice and feedback. Mentoring involves fortnightly 1-hour appointments, with one mentee per quarter.

Host a masterclass

For those with unique skills, specialised expertise or senior industry experience, we invite you to dedicate 60-90 minutes to host an engaging masterclass, either in person at our Kensal Green office, or virtually.

Your valuable insights can make a huge impact on the lives of young adults, broadening their perspectives, giving valuable industry insight and fostering growth.

Previous topics include:

  • How to get into the ____ industry
  • How to run effective social media or marketing campaigns
  • Introduction to project management
  • Managing time, budgets and resource effectively
  • And many more…

Ad-hoc events

As part of being an established volunteer at Making The Leap, we have opportunities to attend mock interview days, Careers Fairs and other events.

We also have a range of corporate volunteering opportunities – read more about them here

If you have any questions about our volunteering opportunities, please email volunteering@mtl.org.uk or call 02089621900
