Chief Executive’s comments on charities

Jul 13, 2015

Making The Leap’s Chief Executive Tunde Banjoko OBE comments upon transparency and trust within the charity sector, in light of recent stories in the media. “The recent news about the management and fundraising practices of a few major charities has been received with dismay by the overwhelming majority of charities, who fear being tainted by association with what has been reported.

Charities do amazing work, playing a crucial role in our society, often in extremely difficult circumstances. We welcome the review requested by the Minister for Civil Society, Rob Wilson. Charities recognise our position as one of the pillars of public trust, and will continue to work hard to ensure that we are worthy of the generosity of our supporters.”
