Organisations and individuals from across banking, technology, infrastructure, law, government and higher education have been shortlisted for the 2026 UK Social Mobility Awards (SOMOs), in association with National Grid.

It’s the 10th year since the SOMOs was founded by Making The Leap’s CEO and Founder Tunde Banjoko OBE, and this year’s shortlist includes FTSE 100 and 200 companies. Additionally, universities and councils making a real difference across the UK have been recognised on the shortlist.

Tunde says: “Congratulations to all finalists who are hugely deserving of the spotlight for the innovative, and impactful, ways they are tackling barriers to opportunity and advancing social mobility.

“This is my 10th UK Social Mobility Awards and I continue to find myself inspired by the dedication of those doing the work to drive social mobility forward. The individuals and organisations on this year’s shortlist are helping to reshape futures, break down barriers and create more equitable pathways to success.”

Winners across 13 categories will be announced at a gala dinner in Central London on Tuesday 6 October, hosted by presenter, writer, actor and comedian Sue Perkins.

Winners will be selected by an independent judging panel chaired by HM Lord Lieutenant of London, Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE.
