Young People

More than jobs

Everything we do with our young people is about raising their aspirations and includes developing the key soft skills vital for life and the world of work such as confidence, communication skills, organisational skills, motivation and time keeping. We offer our Fellows ongoing coaching for as long as they need, as well as holistic support such as counselling, to ensure that they are fully equipped for their next step. 70% of Fellows are in a career opportunity within six months, and many of the young adults we have supported over the last year are now working – and thriving – at some of the country’s top companies.

At Making The Leap we recognise that there are so many talented young people from less-advantaged backgrounds who, with the right support and opportunities, can go on to make a great contribution to society. We have developed a range of services and work with partners to help our candidates overcome the barriers they face, so that they can fulfil their potential.

These services include:

Projects aimed at helping them secure life-changing career opportunities

Helping them access Higher level Apprenticeships or go to Russell Group universities

Leadership and career development programmes

What they say:

“Outstanding!! Could not thank Making The Leap and its staff enough for preparing me for a new journey!!”

“Without all of your help and support I wouldn’t have found such a great job opportunity.”

“Making The Leap, you really are changing peoples lives for the better.”
