We are delighted to announce our continued partnership with HSBC, whose funding will enable us to support 2,000 school children in secondary schools across London over the next two years through our Employability, Character and Soft Skills Programme. HSBC’s partnership will also enable us to support 200 young adults, aged 18-25, through our Young Adults Programme over two years.
At a time when opportunities for those from disadvantaged backgrounds are being squeezed ever smaller, this commitment from HSBC underpins their desire to help people develop employment-related skills through their Future Skills programmes. On the partnership, Alison Coates – Global Head of Future Skills at HSBC – said:
“Our support of Making the Leap is based on the belief that all people deserve the opportunity to thrive. We are proud to work with a partner that supports young people in London, home of our global headquarters, to develop the skills that will help them to realise long-term prosperity for themselves, their families and their community.”
In supporting school children, the modular programme will focus on character development and employability skills, including a series of one-off events such as mock interviews, corporate experience days and career insight sessions.
Similarly, the young adults programme will provide the training necessary for self-development and heightened employability, with activities taking place during the three-week Workshop and at one-off events. Perhaps most significantly, the programme will provide young people with access to meaningful employment opportunities offering career progression at top companies.
Making the Leap are delighted to renew this partnership and continue to facilitate the personal development in young people’s lives that can lead to a greater sense of self-worth, motivation, confidence and aspirations. With the continued support of HSBC we aim to provide even more opportunities to young people that they would not previously have had and ensure that no talent goes to waste.
